ABC News Nightline Internship - Spring 2010

Internship Description:

Up to two undergraduate Georgetown students will have the chance to intern with the prominent broadcast show ABC News Nightline during the Spring 2010 semester.  The selected intern(s) will have the extraordinary opportunity to find out what working on a national television broadcast is like.  Intern(s) will each work 15-20 hours/week and each will receive a scholarship of $2500.  This internship only occurs during Spring semester and the intern(s) should be prepared to work evenings and nights because of the timing of the broadcast.

Potential tasks and projects:

The student(s) will experience all aspects of story development and production, take part in editorial conferences, and perform a variety of duties vital to the broadcast's sucess including:

Qualifications:

This internship opportunity is open to Georgetown students from any main campus undergraduate program (freshmen - seniors). This internship is designed for students with a strong interest in how the media works and its effects on domestic and/or international relations. Candidates with a strong interest in current affairs, a strong academic record, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively in a high intensity work environment, and a demonstrated knowledge of current affairs are encouraged to apply. No prior journalism experience required. Applicants must be registered undergraduate students at Georgetown University during the Spring 2010 semester of the internship.

Applications must be submitted in person to the Career Education Center by 12:00 noon Friday, November 13, 2009:

A selection committee will review applications of candidates. Semi-finalists will be selected for interviews which will be conducted on campus (exact date TBD).
