2009-2010 On-Campus Interviewing Student Policies
Students are required to honor the following commitments:
- Pursue only positions in which genuine interest you
- Respond to all invitations from companies offering you an interview
- Participate in all interviews you accept
- Be prompt and well prepared for all interviews
- Present an accurate account of work experience and education on your resume
- Answer all questions from the interviewers truthfully
- Cancel interviews at least 72 hours prior to the start of the scheduled interview time
- Accept an offer with the full intention of honoring my commitment
- Discontinue the job search immediately after accepting a job offer and notify all potential employers of your decision
On-Campus Interview Cancellation
- You may cancel your interview before the Schedule Close Date, listed in the job description, without penalty by logging in to the Hoya Career Connection under the Interviews tab.
- Cancellations must be made no later than 72 hours before your scheduled interview time.
- Cancellations made within 72 hours will be counted as a missed interview.
Missed Interviews
If you miss an interview:
- We will immediately block you from the Hoya Career Connection.
- You will not be able to sign up for additional on-campus interviews, nor will you be able to apply for positions interviewing on-campus.
- You are still required to attend any previously scheduled interviews.
To regain full access to Hoya Career Connection, you must:
- Send an e-mail apology to the employer and a copy to our Recruiting Coordinator.
- Schedule an appointment with the appropriate Recruiting Team member to request reinstatement and bring a copy of the apology letter.
Second-Round Interviews
You may not cancel a previously scheduled first-round interview to attend a second-round interview. If you miss a previously scheduled first-round interview to attend a second-round interview, it will be counted as a missed interview. Employers must offer at least one alternative interview date option, without negative consequences, for second-round interviews and must notify students at least 48 hours in advance of a second-round interview.
