Overview
Hoyas in Greater China provides opportunities to Georgetown students for work experience in a diverse array of industries in Shanghai and Taipei. Industries range from law to government, international affairs, finance and non-profit.
Background
In 2009, Georgetown alumni working in the Greater China region saw the importance of increasing international exposure for Georgetown students. Led by Richard Matsui (SFS 2007) in Taipei and Kevin Chen (1997) in Shanghai, these summer internships offer students opportunities to learn more about the Chinese work culture, the China market, and gain relevant industry experience. In Fall 2009, Richard and Kevin began reaching out to potential employers in their respective regions. The student team of Jennifer Chen (SFS 2011) and Peter Lai (MSB 2011) have been working hard to promote these internship opportunities.
Duration
Most internships will last approximately 8-10 weeks beginning in early June and ending in early August. Specific length of the internship may vary depending on the organization, be sure to confirm with the employer before you commit.
Eligibility
All Hoyas, including undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni, are eligible to apply for internships. Please note, however, that many of the opportunities are focused on undergraduates. Please see specific postings for more details.
